Museo Archeologico Regionale "Pietro Griffo"

Museo Archeologico Regionale "Pietro Griffo"

The building was designed by Franco Minissi and built in the '60s on the poggetto of San Nicola where the upper agora of the ancient city stood and, in more recent times, the villa of the Ciantro Panitteri. The fusion between ancient factories (Cloister of San Nicola) and modern structures is admirable. The archaeological museum displays 5688 exhibits which, ordered according to a chronological and topographical criterion, illustrate the history of the Agrigento area from prehistory to the end of the Greco-Roman age.
