Valle dei Templi

Valle dei Templi

The park, about 1300 hectares wide, preserves an extraordinary monumental and landscape heritage that includes the remains of the ancient city of Akragas and the surrounding area up to the sea. In the Valley of the Temples, declared in 1997 by UNESCO as a "world heritage site", there is one of the largest archaeological complexes in the Mediterranean, immersed in an agricultural landscape of rare beauty mainly consisting of centuries-old olive and almond trees.
